"Henry, do you think we should sell the peridot?" asked Mary. "How many pieces do we have?" answered Henry. "Thirteen," replied Mary, "6 big ones and 7 small ones," "Let me do the math, and then I'll find out how much money is costs if we sell it all," answered Henry. Then he started to add up the small pieces of peridot. Mary watched him. "How much money would the small gems cost? she asked Henry. "Um... I think they would cost $595, and then the big ones would cost $2700, so that's $3, 295!" he answered. "Oh wow!" said Mary. That day they went to the market place and sold all the peridot but one of the small pieces, and they got $3, 210 (They only got 3, 210 because they didn't sell all the peridot.)! They went to the Hawaiian market again the next day, and Mary bought a pair of skis and a skiing suit for herself and two pairs of snowshoes for her and Henry, and then Henry bought a snowboard and a suit too. They also bought a few winter outfits, and a coat each. They got a lot of winter things because it was almost winter. When they were done buying things, they still had $976 left!

WOW! they spent a lot of money on clothes and equipment. That is a lot of money considering the winter season must be short. I like Mary's dresses, especially! Henry's shirts and trousers are so vibrant and bright! Great story Hope! xoxoxo
